How it works

From files to a live link in three steps

  1. Open Flux Drop

Head to Flux Apps and choose one HTML file, a ZIP, or a folder with an index.html at its root. Files are served exactly as you upload them.

  2. Get a live URL

Pick a name or keep our suggestion. Update the site any time and the link stays the same.

  3. Claim to keep it

No account is needed to publish. Sign in to claim your site, keep it beyond 7 days, and manage it from any device.

Why Flux Drop

Simple hosting, built on a resilient network

  • Replicated on Flux

Sites are stored on multiple independent Flux nodes, so one machine going offline does not take your link down.

  • One link, every update

Replace your files from the site settings. Visitors keep using the same URL.

  • Password-protected pages

Publish a self-contained HTML page as private from the start. Visitors need the password you set to open it.

  • Sandboxed by default

Every site runs in an isolated sandbox, so uploaded pages cannot read cookies or act on your account.

  • No build, no setup

No CLI, Git repository, or configuration. Works with plain HTML and prebuilt React or Vue bundles.

  • Share anywhere

Copy the link or scan a QR code to open your site on a phone.

FAQ

Common questions

What files should I upload?

A single HTML file becomes your site’s index.html. For a multi-file site, choose a folder or ZIP whose root contains index.html. Keep asset links relative, like assets/style.css, so they work under your site URL.

my-site/
  index.html
  assets/
    style.css
    app.js
What happens after 7 days?

Sites published without an account expire 7 days after publishing, and their links stop working. Sign in to claim a site and keep it with no expiry. Claimed sites appear in your workspace on any device where you sign in.

Can I update a site without changing its link?

Yes. Visit your Flux Drop workspace and open Manage on the site card and replace the content with a new HTML file, ZIP, or folder. The URL stays the same. Available names use a clean URL; a taken name gets a short suffix. Old links redirect after a rename.

Do React, Vue, or other single-page apps work?

Prebuilt bundles work. Upload the build output (for example dist/ or build/), not the source. Configure your build to use relative asset paths. Because each site is sandboxed, apps that rely on cookies, localStorage, or service workers may behave differently.

How private are password-protected sites?

Turn on Private when you publish, or later from Manage. Private sites are only served after a visitor enters the correct password. Access is temporary and stays in that browser. Private hosting currently supports self-contained HTML pages, with styles and scripts inlined.

What are the limits?

Each upload can be up to 50 MiB and 5,000 files, and only static files are served. There is no server-side code, database, or form handling.

What content is not allowed?

Phishing, malware, impersonation, illegal content, and anything that violates the Flux Terms of Service is removed. To report a site, contact Flux Support with its link.

Where do I go for more hosting power?

For apps that need a backend, databases, or Git-based deploys, try Orbit or FluxCloud.
